The League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT) has a team of property/casualty claim adjusters located at the LMCIT office in St. Paul, as well as branch locations throughout the state including Virginia, Moorhead, Willmar, Mankato, Rochester, and Brainerd. Workers’ Compensation claim examiners are located in St. Paul. LMCIT also has a special claims unit to handle more complicated claims such as police, land use, and employment claims.
LMCIT has a comprehensive and streamlined process for handling claims. The hallmark of this process is communication with each city about claim status and results. With each file, LMCIT claim staff consults with the member on important decisions affecting that claim, and informs the member of the reasoning behind claims decisions. In cities where multiple claims exist, our claims management staff will take a consultative approach. They will visit city offices and provide a comprehensive claims overview with city staff.
