The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency will accept applications from cities until noon on July 11.
(Published Jun 25, 2013)
Do you have a demand for affordable ownership housing within your city? Do current homeowners have a housing rehab need that isn’t being addressed by existing rehab programs in your city?
If so, consider Minnesota Housing’s Community Homeownership Impact Fund, the program formerly known as “CRV.” The deadline to submit your application is July 11 at noon.
The Impact Fund can be used for a variety of ownership housing activities, including new construction; acquisition/rehabilitation/resale; owner-occupied rehabilitation or down payment assistance programs targeted to a well-defined community development objective; or to reduce interest rates on Minnesota Housing home improvement loans. Activities must serve households at or below 115 percent of the state or area median income.
How to apply
Funds are awarded every year via a competitive RFP process. High-capacity organizations proposing projects with a high degree of development readiness and leverage are encouraged to apply.
This year and next year, there will be a special priority on proposals that address workforce housing needs, particularly in areas with recent job growth or long commutes.
If you are interested in applying for the Impact Fund, but not ready for this year’s deadline, it is not too soon to contact program staff (listed at right) to learn about how to prepare for next year’s application process.
